Fürstenreich descends from one of the most influential bloodlines of modern day sport horses. His sire, Florestan (Westfalen) is one of the top sires in Germany. In 2000 he was ranked no 1 on the FN breeding values list. His progeny are renowned for their rideability.
 

Fürstenreich's damsire, Matador, was the DLG champion in Munich and was sired by the great Trakehner stallion Donauwind. Matador is also the damsire of Hohenstein.

Fürstenreich completed a successful 30-day performance test in Vechta, scoring 8.41 for rideability and 8.57 for jumping, showing his versatility as an athlete.

His first foals were stunning, and helped earn him a Hauptpraemie award from the German Oldenburger Verband in November, 2002. In 2003 he confirmed his dressage talent by winning the qualifier for the German Championship for 5-year-old dressage horses.
