Waterford is an outstanding example of the best modern Hanoverian breeding. His sire is Wolkenstein II (winner of his performance test) another oustanding son of the great Weltmeyer (winner of his stallion testing). His dam, Minna, is by the modern refining stallion Matcho AA (winner of his performance test) and her dam is by the famous dressage sire, Pik König.
Waterford won the Stallion Performance Test in 1999 with a phenomenal dressage score of 154.48 points (first out of 36), a very good score of 115.84 for jumping (seventh out of 36), and an overall winning score of 149.94.
